Verona Wins Over Middleton In Boys Hockey

The Verona boys high school team beat Middleton 4-1 at the Eagle's Nest in Verona on Friday night.

Four different players scored for Verona in Michael Stevens, who got the Wildcats on the board in the first period.

Travis Dahk stopped 35 Cardinals shots on the night.

Nick Bybee scored the lone goal for the Cardinals.

Middleton Girls Knock Off East In Prep Basketball

The Middleton girls basketball team remains unbeaten in Big Eight Conference play after defeating Madison East on Friday night 54-30.

East led by five points at the half, but the Cardinals took control in the second half, outscoring East 37-8.

The Middleton High School Gymnastics Team celebrated the addition of a new spring board floor to MHS. 

The old spring board floor was deemed unsafe due to age. 

The new floor was made possible with a donation from the Middleton High School Athletic Booster Club.

Cycling Store To Expand Middleton Location

The Endurance House is expanding at it's Greenway Station location in Middleton.

Endurance House will add 800 square feet to their current store in addition to their previous expansion in March 2009, according to shopping center officials. They said the Endurance House plans to open a new cycling fit, sales and service-center in the added space.

Remodeling plans were finalized last year and construction on the new space has commenced. Barring construction delays, Endurance House plans to officially open the new space by late February 2011.

Middleton Wings Travel To Milwaukee, Bring Home 3rd Place Finish!

The Middleton Wings Bantam B hockey team traveled to Milwaukee this weekend to play in the Battle of the Bantams hosted by the SHAW Timberwolves. Bantam skaters are grades 7, 8 and 9.

In spite of the tough competition, the Middleton Wings, coached by Larry Kurbel, took 3rd place.

Tournament highlights inlcuded a 4-2 victory over Appleton in the third round.

The team also went to see the Milwaukee Admirals take on the Toronto Marlies, which ended with a 1-0 Admiral victory in a shoot-out.  For hockey enthusiasts, there's no such thing as too much hockey!

Beloit Holds On For Win Over Middleton In Game Of The Week

A late charge by Middleton comes up short and Beloit Memorial topped the Cardinals 67-59 in boys basketball on Friday night in the Channel 3000 Game of the Week.

Leketrius Broomfield led the Purple Knights with 19 points, two of which came on a thunderous slam dunk in the second quarter. Beloit led at the half by a score of 35-18.

The Cardinals made it a game late. Anton Buchanan scored under the basket to cut the lead to seven with time winding down, but back-to-back steals for Beloit cinched the game. WISC-TV Sports Director Jay Wilson talked with the night's high scorer after the game.

Middleton was led by Sonny Bavery who scored 14 points.

Middleton Hockey Player Scores Goal, Wows Crowd

Middleton boys hockey dominated Madison Memorial 9-1 on Friday night, but one of the goals scored by Middleton is getting a bit more attention than the others.

That goal has found its way on YouTube. Middleton senior Todd Koritzinsky scored on what's commonly called a "Michigan" goal. The play is reminiscent of a score in a college championship game years ago by a Michigan player.

Middleton improved to 5-0 on the season.
