Middleton Boys Hockey To Play For State Title

The Middleton boys hockey team knocked off Green Bay Notre Dame on Friday night 5-1.

The Cardinals were led by Todd Kortizinsky, who registered the hat trick and he did it in the first two periods.

Middleton faces Wausau West, who defeated Eau Claire Memorial in overtime on Friday night.

Middleton Boys Hockey Earns First Ever Win At State

The final eight teams left in high school boys hockey have made their way to madison as the 41st annunal WIAA State Boys Hockey Tournament began at the alliant energy center today

The Middleton Cardinals made their first apperance since 2006 and third overall in the state tournament. Thursday afternoon they earned their first ever win at state with a 2-1 win over Cedarburg in the state quarterfinals.

Middleton will face Green Bay-Notre Dame on Friday at 6 p.m.

Middleton Wins Boys Hockey Sectional Over Waunakee

Middleton got a late goal on Friday night to defeat Waunakee 3-2 in the boys hockey sectional finals.

Waunakee's Eric Behrend put the Warriors up 2-1 on a rebound goal early in the second period.

Middleton struck back in the second with a 2-2 on a goal by junior adam Derosa.

Middleton will face the winner of Saturday's Cedarburg and St. Mary's Springs in the quarterfinals next Thursday.

Middleton Tops Janesville Parker In Game Of The Week

The Middleton girls basketball team improved to a perfect 16-0 in the Big 8 Conference witha 61-45 win over Janesville Parker on Friday night in the Channel 3000 Game of the Week.

Middleton started out cold and the Vikings took advantage. Ashley Hartwig's 3-pointer put the Vikings up 10 in the first half, but Middleton came back in the third quarter and took control of the game.

The Cardinals word blue warmups to raise awareness about Juvenile Diabetes Research. Senior Kerry Gardner suffers from Type 1 Diabetes.

Cardinal Booster Club Hosts Mardi Gras-Themed Fundraiser

The Cardinal Booster Club is hosting its Mardi Gras 2011 fundraising event on Saturday, Feb. 26 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Scatz Nightclub in Middleton.

Tickets are $50 per person and are available by contacting any Booster Club Board Member or any MHS coach.

Middleton Skates To 6-3 Win Over Monona Grove

Monona Grove dropped a non-conference road game against Middleton 6-3 on Tuesday night.

The Cardinals boys hockey team was up 3-0 after the first period. 

Middleton held that three goal lead for the win.

Middleton Tops Verona In Girls Prep Basketball

The Middleton girls basketball team continued it's hot streak with a 54-45 win over the Verona on Friday in the Channel 3000 Prep Mania Game of the Week. 

Middleton lost its season opener, but has rattled off 14 straight wins including 11 straight in the Big Eight Conference.

Middleton led by three at the half, thanks to a buzzer-beater from senior Kerry Gardner. They extended the lead to 10 points in the fourth quarter, but Verona mounted a comeback. Ashley Bartow scored off a steal to cut the lead to four, but that was as close as they could get to the Cardinals.

Sports Director Jay Wilson interviewed members of the winning team after the game.
