New Clothing Shop To Celebrate Grand Opening

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held at Chauette on Wednesday.

The store, specializing in unique gifts and clothing for women and children is now open in downtown Middleton at 7466 Hubbard Avenue, next to Louisianne's/ETC.

The special grand opening event is set for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and offer cool fashions, great giveaways and refreshments.

This will be the second Chauette location. The first is in the Paoli Schoolhouse and Shops Cafe in Belleville.

Perfume Stolen From Store In Greenway Station

Middleton police responded to a retail theft call at Greenway Station last Wednesday at about 4 p.m.

Police said a black man about 6 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build left the Bath and Body Works store with 10 bottles of perfume.

The man was last seen wearing a red shirt and carrying a dark-colored backpack, according to the report.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Middleton Police Department.

FCI Art Show And Auction Is Thursday

The Food Concepts (FCI) Art Show and Auction, a fundraising event sponsored by many local area businesses, is set for Thursday, Oct. 7.

People are encouraged to come out and connect with the local Madison/Middleton community as they appreciate -- and bid on -- art, sip wine and savor tasty hors d'oervres while live music plays in the background.

Attendees can meet the featured artist, watercolorist Peg Ginsberg, mingle with other civic-minded business leaders and donate or purchase art for a great cause.

Artwork is donated by Individuals and companies, then auctioned off in a silent auction format to benefit MOM (Middleton Outreach Ministry), supporting Dane County families in need in Madison, Middleton and Cross Plains.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Food Concepts Office at 2551 Parmenter Street in Middleton.

The event is free, but an RSVP is required.

Greenway Station Announces Two New Stores

Middleton's Greenway Station Shopping Center has announced the addition of two new tenants, European chocolate shop Chocolaterie Stam and a temporary Toys "R" Us Express.

Chocolaterie Stam will open in 1,212 square feet next to C.J. Banks along Deming Way. Jacobus Stam began his business of making fine European chocolates in Holland in 1913. Three generations later the Stam family continues the nearly 100-year Dutch tradition of fresh cream and nut-filled chocolate bonbons. Chocolaterie Stam is scheduled to open their first Wisconsin store on Oct. 16 and currently has stores located in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and North Carolina along with six stores in Holland.

Take A Break At Greenway Station

Dane County's businesses are encouraged to take a break on Friday, Sept. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. and join Greenway Station for the largest coffee break Middleton has ever seen.

The event is designed to offer a place for local businesses to network together while enjoying a complimentary cup of coffee from Starbucks.

The 7th annual Middleton's Largest Coffee Break, sponsored by State Bank of Cross Plains, will be held rain or shine in a tent located in the parking area near Starbucks.

The first 100 event attendees will receive a free gift bag filled with coupons and special offers courtesy of Greenway Station. In addition to complimentary coffee, there will be free bakery treats.

The event will also include live entertainment by local guitar and bass musicians Ken Wheaton and Tom McCarty, as well as chances to win Greenway Station gift cards, office lunch parties and other great prizes.

ArtFest Returns To Greenway Station

Greenway Station’s sixth annual ArtFest will be held Saturday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thirty-five of the area’s top artists will participate in a juried art exhibition and sale held along the shopping center’s main street, Deming Way.

The event will offer live entertainment, free children’s activities and a wealth of art to Middleton and surrounding communities.

The categories of art judged for the festival include jewelry, glass, photography, ceramics, drawing, mixed media, painting, textiles, watercolor, fiber and wood.

Customers can enjoy a live guitar performances by local musician Ken Wheaton and a live keyboard performance by musician Doug White. Plus, a hands-on family area offering interactive art activities including free children’s make-and-take workshops, face painting, caricatures and balloon art will also be available all weekend long.

Erehwon, Ashley Moving Into Greenway Station

Greenway Station Shopping Center has announced the addition of two new retail options for consumers.

The specialty outdoor equipment retailer Erehwon Mountain Outfitter will open in October and Wisconsin-based furniture retailer Ashley Furniture HomeStore will open on or before Labor Day.
