New Bison-Only Restaurant To Open In Greenway Station

A new, innovative restaurant will be serving up bison this fall at Middleton's Greenway Station. 

Bison Jack's will serve bison dogs, bratwursts and burgers. The restaurant will open in 2,400 square feet and be located in between Cosi and Starbuck’s.

The restaurant is scheduled to open this October and will provide a seventh dining option at Greenway Station. The fast-casual restaurant will seat 70 people and be open seven days a week. 

Bison Jack's is designed and operated by Vision 360 Design, of Dallas, Tex. 

"The camaraderie among the restaurant industry in Madison is inspiring," said Shaun Horne in a news release. "The food scene is amazing and I'm looking forward to joining that scene and adding a new twist!"

 

Dane County Humane Society Presents 3rd Annual Ride For Pets

The Dane County Humane Society is having its 3rd Annual DCHS Motorcycle Ride for Pets on Saturday, Aug. 13, where people can rev up their motorcycles to raise money for homeless animals.

Schedule:

* 10am-11am – Check In/Register at Engelhart Center (1589 Greenway Cross, Madison)

* 11am-3pm – Ride the Route! (Black Earth, Blue Mounds, Mount Horeb and Oregon areas - The suggested route is 112 miles, but you can ride as far as you like)

* 3pm – 6pm – Party at Quaker Steak & Lube (2259 Deming Way, Middleton)

Registration is only $35 (or $60 for two riders on one bike) and includes: a poker hand, commemorative t-shirt, meal, live music and it provides a dog three days of food and shelter at DCHS. 

Please don't bring your own pets.

New Salon Opens In Greenway Station

Greenway Station Shopping Center has announced the opening of an AVEDA concept hair salon and retail center.

Studio 262 Salon, owned by Wisconsin local Stacy Snook, opened on Tuesday, Aug. 2 in 2,200 square feet between Coldwater Creek and Bath & Body Works along Deming Way.

The salon offers a variety of services including haircuts for men and women, color and foil, wedding and bride styling, as well as massage, facials, cosmetics and body treatments using AVEDA products. Additionally, they incorporate a complimentary mini photo shoot to clients with each visit.

Studio 262 Salon has one location in Brookfield, where the area code is 262.

Snook grew up in the Black Earth area and graduated from Capri Cosmetology College in 1991. She also owned Styles Salon & Spa, a Best of Madison Award Winner, located in Cross Plains. With the opening of her new salon in Middleton, the Styles Salon & Spa will now close.

American Girl To Host Annual Sale For Charity

American Girl will be holding a special sale this weekend to help raise money for Madison Children's Museum.

The event will be on Saturday, July 16 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the company's Benefit Sale Warehouse at 8830 N. Greenview Drive in Middleton.

It will include discounted overstock and returned merchandise, but tickets for the event are sold out.

This is the 24th year of the sale, which has raised about $14 million for the museum over that timespan.

City Of Middleton Updates Holiday Garbage Pickup Schedule

Due to the Fourth of July holiday, garbage and recycling collection will be delayed one day for all city residents.

UW Provision Retail Store is Expanding

UW Provision Retail Store is Expanding

University of Wisconsin Provision is expanding it's retail store and it's hours.  The small retail store that is located at 2315 Pleasant View Road is getting a new storefront that will soon face Pleasant View Road.

UW Provision currently sells a wide variety of restaurant quality fresh and frozen meats.  The new retail store which will have over three times the space will also be expanding is selection of products.  Management of UW Provision said that it will carry more "heat and eat" meal options, more side dishes and a more extensive selection of wine. 

Beginning on June 4, the store expanded it's hours.  The new store hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-3 p.m.  The store is closed on Sundays.

The store will remain open until the new store build out is complete.  The construction is expected to be completed in 4-6 weeks.

Healthy Living Expo Set For Middleton

The Marriott West in Middleton will be hosting the 2011 Healthy Living Expo on June 25.

This free family-friendly event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and its purpose is to raise money for Gilda's Club of Madison.

Gilda's Club serves the community through its support of families that have been touched by cancer.

The Healthy Living Expo will be comprised of some of Madison’s finest health and fitness businesses.

During this event, visitors may peruse informational booths, and enjoy presentations from health and fitness "experts" every half hour. There will be demonstrations of dancing, yoga, martial arts and much more. Children's activities will include balloon making and face painting.  There will also be a silent auction with many items from local businesses.
