Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District Education Foundation Wins Grant | Schools
The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District Education Foundation has been awarded a Community Impact Challenge Grant from the Madison Community Foundation.
The grant is a 2-for-1 match. The school district has until Dec. 31, 2012, to raise $70,000. If it does, the Madison Community Foundation will provide a $35,000 grant to the MCPASD Education Foundation.
"We have an incredible opportunity to partner with parents, community members, businesses, alumni and others through this grant," MCPASD Superintendent Don Johnson said in a news release. "The Education Foundation is a fabulous organization to tap into resources and enhance and expand opportunities for our children."
Nine projects were funded this fall, said Tom Linfield, vice president for grantmaking and community initiatives for the Madison Community Foundation. The MCPASD Education Foundation received the only endowment challenge grant, he said.
A Steering Committee met this week to continue work on the mission and vision along with potential programs and priorities for the district’s Education Foundation. A staff and retiree giving campaign is expected to begin early in 2012.
The MCPASD Education Foundation submitted its grant proposal in early September.
