Police: Woman beaten outside West Towne Mall | News
Madison police said a 20-year-old Middleton woman was attacked as she was walking outside of West Towne Mall late Saturday afternoon.
The woman told police she was walking at about 5:20 p.m. when a group of people who were on the sidewalk were blocking her path.
She tried to move through the group and said "Excuse me," as she did, but she said a woman pushed her from behind, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
She turned and the same woman pushed her again, police said. After the second push, a man in the group punched the victim, according to the incident report.
During the encounter, the victim threw her iPhone at the woman.
The woman picked it up and took off with the phone, police said.
