One man killed following Cross Plains crash | News

A 21-year-old Cross Plains man was killed on Thursday night after the truck he was driving went into a ditch and crashed into a tree.

The crash happened on Barlow Road, south of Observatory Road in Cross Plains, according to authorities.

Emergency officials responded to the crash just after 11 p.m. Thursday. Dane County Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Heil said he didn't know how long the truck was there before the call came in.

Heil said the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from his vehicle.

"Deputies are still actively investigating the crash to try to determine what the cause of the crash was, what would have caused the driver to go off the road and what could have contributed to the crash,"�said �Heil.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies aren't releasing the man's name until they notify his family.
