Starting Monday, July 18, the Madison area will play host to STAR Days, an international gathering of STAR Touring and Riding Association members.

As part of their annual week of festivities and events the motorcycle club is partnering with Feed the Children and Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, Inc. to distribute food and personal care items to families in need.

About 800 families will be able to pick up a box of food and a box of personal care items at the distribution event which will be on Wednesday, July 20. Set up for the event will begin at 7 a.m. with the distribution to take place from 9:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The distribution will be held in the Madison Memorial High School parking lot at 201 S. Gammon Rd.

To receive assistance at this event families will need to present vouchers, which are being distributed through area food pantries.

At 9 a.m., there will be a police escorted motorcycle parade from the Marriot Hotel at 1313 John Q Hammons Drive in Middleton to James Madison Memorial High School.

The bikers will each be bringing cases of food that will be distributed that morning. The parade route will go down Greenway Boulevard, High Point Road, Mineral Point Road and Gammon Road before entering the parking lot at the high school.
