Take Middleton's citizen satisfaction survey

The City of Middleton is looking for feedback from its residents and businesses.

City Administrator & Director of Community Development Mike Davis says that opinions from locals will determine which specific programs and services should be funded annually. During the upcoming 2013 budget development process, the Mayor, City Council’s Finance Committee and the City Council will try to determine Middleton’s highest priority programs and services and match these with estimated resources. Residents' and businesses' input will help decide how the city's limited funds should be spent.

County's e-waste recycling event collects 400,000 pounds of electronics

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi said the county's fourth annual free e-waste recycling event this past weekend was a huge success, preventing an estimated 400,000 pounds of broken or unwanted electronics from cluttering area homes and clogging the county's landfill.

"We not only recycled hundreds of thousands of pounds of e-waste and helped families with some housecleaning, but we also kept a lot of toxic materials out of our landfill," Parisi said. "This free event is convenient for our residents and good for our lands and lakes."

People who attended Saturday's event at the Alliant Energy Center dropped off 100,000 more pounds of computers, printers, scanners, television sets, cellphones and other electronics than last year -- enough to fill 16 semi trucks.  The items were sorted quickly and efficiently by more than 100 volunteers and there were few problems with lines or waiting, according to country officials.

Inland Companies kicks off new affiliation with Colliers International

Inland Companies kicks off new affiliation with Colliers International

Inland Companies is excited to announce that effective May 2012, its brokerage and property management teams are affiliating with Colliers International.

While its brokerage and property management teams remain locally owned and operated by Inland Companies, these divisions will now be doing business as Colliers International Wisconsin.

Over the course of the next 6 to 12 months the company's signage (both leasing and management) and property marketing materials will be switched.

Additionally, emails will change to reflect Colliers’ national standard, however,  inlandcompanies.com emails will remain active so as not to disrupt any immediate communications.

Joining the Colliers family wasn’t a decision that was made lightly, but officials said they felt it was one that would accelerate our ability to serve its clients in a variety of ways.

Craft Beer Week Is Under Way In Dane County

Madison Craft Beer Week is under way.

The 10-day countywide festival promotes Dane County's craft beer culture and beer appreciation.

Craft beer lovers can take part in beer dinners, beer walks and even brewery parties.

Staff at the Great Dane in downtown Madison spoke with WISC-TV about the festival.

"We get people coming in from out of town saying, 'You know, we heard this place is really great. Madison's having Craft Beer Week and we really just want to check it out.' So we get to enlighten a lot of outsiders about the coolness of Madison's beer scene," said Reese Railling, a manager at the Great Dane.

Craft Beer Week runs through May 13.

Attic Angel to break ground on expanded facility

Groundbreaking ceremonies for a bigger and better Attic Angel Place will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10.

The groundbreaking will signify the start of a $7.5 million expansion at 8301 Old Sauk Road in Middleton. The plan will accommodate the changing needs of seniors seeking more independence.

A 3-story, 42,000 square foot addition at Attic Angel Place will include an easy-access rehabilitation center on the first level, with 10 assisted living units on both the second and third floors.

The current rehabilitation center will be moved and expanded to provide more convenient and assessable physical, occupational and speech therapy for people who have recuperated in the health center and can return home with outpatient therapy services.  It includes drive-up access and eliminates long walks to the rehabilitation facility.
