Fundraiser to help pay for kids to go to New Orleans, uniforms and more
High school band and orchestra students kicked off their annual fruit-sale fundraiser to benefit student music programs.
The Middleton High School Band and Parents Association’s sale offers a variety of fruit options including Texas “Rio Red” grapefruit, California navel oranges, apples, pears and citrus medleys. Varietal gift packs are also available. Prices range from $18 to $42.
The fruit is shipped to the high school and hand-sorted and packed by parent and student volunteers. The citrus is on the tree less than a week before our delivery day in Middleton.
Organizers say the fruit keeps well and makes great holiday gifts. Buyers can also designate all or part of an order to be donated to Middleton Outreach Ministry food pantry.
Sale proceeds provide funds for student music camp scholarships, guest performers, clinicians, uniforms and equipment upkeep.
The proceeds also help pay for the biennial band and orchestra tour trips, which combine musical performances and listening opportunities over spring break. A 2013 band and orchestra trip is planned to New Orleans.
The community is invited to call 827-8522 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, address and e-mail address to place an order.
The sale ends Nov. 27 and fruit deliveries begin Dec. 15.
