Man Tries To Deposit 37 Fake $100 Bills At Middleton Bank | Crime

The Wells Fargo Bank on University Avenue in Middleton called police after a customer tried making a deposit that included 37 counterfeit $100 bills, according to the Middleton Police Department. 

Police said that the 37 bills in the deposit all had the same three serial numbers, and that an additional 20 counterfeit bills had been deposited by the same customer at the West Towne Branch Wells Fargo Branch. 

The customer told police that the he gathered the bills after they were discarded from a fast moving car near Lake Mills two or three years ago. 

The matter remains under investigation, according to Middleton police.
