?Habitat?s very fortunate that the community comes together to support us, and we have almost 4,000 volunteers on site this year alone to help us built at least 15 homes for people that need them,? Good said.

The house, located in Fitchburg, is slated to be done by this summer. The future owner was also out at the site, pitching in on building the home?s walls.

Volunteers will be on hand from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. to assist those interested in dropping off clothing, household goods, furniture, tools and other items to be donated or recycled.

Assistant Director of Community Development Abby Attoun-Tucker said the twice-yearly event has blossomed in recent years.

The committee collected 30,000 pounds of electronics and two trailers full of items for donation during 2012's two clean-up events.

Prescriptions contribute to accidental poisonings, Dane County's largest injury-related cause of death

Police, pharmacies and clinics are drawing awareness to National Prescription Take Back Day, happening Friday and Saturday at several locations.

The goal of the collection day is to reduce the number of expired, unused and unwanted medicine.

Poisoning deaths are more common than automobile deaths in Dane County. Unused prescriptions contribute to accidental poisonings, the number one cause of injury-related death, according to the Middleton Police Department.

A statement by Middleton police emphasized pain medications as an especially dangerous prescription group.

Video helps bar employees nab theft suspects

Belongings taken from the purse of a 34-year-old Middleton woman were recovered after bar employees used video to identify two thieves who had targeted the unattended purse Saturday night, according to Madison police.

The staff at Whiskey Jacks Saloon at 552 State St. reviewed surveillance video after a woman said she placed her purse on a bar stool and turned her back to it to talk with friends. They told police they identified two thieves. One man was in the bar and one was leaving the bar.

Employees said they chased, caught, and held the man who was leaving the bar until police arrived. They told police the man had the woman?s phone, credit cards and cash.

Police said the purse was found inside the bar.

An employee helped an officer detain the second man inside the bar when the man tried to run, according to police.

Police said the video showed the two men were working together.
